Hello, and welcome to my blog. I’m Betty, a.k.a. the Old Lady in Training. 

No, that’s not my photo, I only wish I was that awesome! Due to my job, I’m not ready to unmask myself quite yet, so I’ll be using this series of wonderful ladies as my avatars. 

I was inspired to write this blog after some traumatic and life-changing events that took place during the pandemic. I realized then, that life is way too short and we must act now to secure the future we want before it’s too late.

After losing a good friend, far too young, and both of my parents in the past two years, I jumped into planning my dream retirement with both feet. 

I bought my retirement home, a good decade before I’m set to retire and now I can’t wait to get there! 

On these pages, I will share all I have learned about creating passive income streams for security in retirement, planning for an earlier retirement, and making money through internet side hustles. 

Along the way, I will share stories of the “old ladies” that inspire me and other ramblings of this Gen-X woman, working towards being one awesome old lady!
